Ilchi Lee: Parents Teach Spirit

Ilchi Lee: Parents Teach Spirit
From a translation of Ilchi Lee’s book The Power of the Brain

Parents are the ones who can teach “spirit.” One does not become a respected parent by seeming on the outside to have worldly success and by knowing a lot. Wonderful parents are those who live honestly and openly, who have their own convictions about life. Only then can they serve as bright, clear mirrors for their children.

From a translation of Ilchi Lee’s book The Power of the Brain

Our souls, although invisible to the eye, tremble in pure simplicity before some lofty, noble purpose. If moved in this way, a child may even focus wholeheartedly on his studies, not even remembering to eat. If you cannot think of a good answer to his questions, try asking a question of your own: “Hmm… Why study? You’ve come into this world because you have something to do, because the world really needs you. Together, let’s try to find out what that is.”
