Consuming foods to increase memory may help improve mental wellness

If you're practicing yoga or meditation techniques to increase memory retention, you're already well on your way to achieving a stronger body and mind. But did you know that the foods you consume can also affect your brain function?

Certain foods can have a detrimental effect on your mental and physical well-being. For instance, processed and fast food items often contain preservatives and artificial additives which can potentially lead to poor health.

Conversely, foods that increase memory capacity are all-natural and rich in healthful compounds like antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, protein, fiber and omega fatty acids.

Individuals who want to attain overall wellness should consume at least five servings of fruits and vegetables each day and adequate amounts of whole grains and lean protein, such as tofu.

Items that have been shown to be especially beneficial to the mind and body include salmon, nuts, soy products, flax seeds and pomegranates. Additionally, fruits and vegetables that are brightly colored are known to be rich in antioxidants, so eating a rainbow of produce each day may also help improve memory.
