You may be able to entrust the outside of your child to others, but the core you must protect yourself. “Knowledge” is what children learn outside the home. Parents are the ones who can teach “spirit.” One does not become a respected parent by seeming on the outside to have worldly success and by knowing a lot. Wonderful parents are those who live honestly and openly, who have their own convictions about life. Only then can they serve as bright, clear mirrors for their children.

…as I worked with various students, I could see that changing the mind was very important for improving the overall state of health. Yoga and other forms of exercise could produce good results, but the effects were always temporary if more fundamental changes did not take place in the mind and, more specifically, in the brain. Thus, I developed the Brain Education System Training method, which brings various mind-body training methods together in one cohesive form. Brain Wave Vibration training, like all other forms of Brain Education, focuses on the brain because this organ determines so much about the quality of our lives. This is essentially a spiritual quest because it requires continuous attention to, and development of, the highest aspects of your character. Brain Mastering cultivates the habit of continuous enlightened living as opposed to brief, transient moments of enlightenment. During the Brain Mastering phase, you will continue to reapply the four previous steps as you continue to develop your body, mind, and spirit. Unleashing Imagination & Creativity

Very interesting words by Ilchi Lee on the topic of adults who complain that kids don’t use their imagination as they used to. Their days are packed with preplanned activities school, sports, tutoring, etc. and every spare moment is filled in with DVDs, children cable television programming, and video games. Little time is left to explore the world and create adventures for themselves.

Why should they bother accessing their imagination when our media culture provides computer-animated dinosaurs, battling spaceships, and instantaneous travel to every part of the globe? When these things disappear, the inevitable cry of “I’m bored!” follows.

A bored child is a child who has not learned to draw on the vast creative resources that lie within the brain. A child’s mind, once awakened to its own imagination, can produce images and ideas that easily rival those of the Walt Disney and Steven Spielberg of this world. In addition, a child’s expressions of creativity provide a link to his or her inner workings.

Essentially, a drawing, skit, or a poem is a reflection of the creator’s mental and spiritual state. Through this kind of expression, children release much of the discomfort and pressure of growing up, and they can learn to imagine a world that is better for themselves and everyone around them.

Power Brain Kids Development

Ilchi Lee writes in his book about kids development that of course, Brain Education is not the only educational system to emphasize the role of the brain in the learning process. Educators are increasingly turning to the discoveries of neuroscience to help them better understand how students learn, and many brain-based educational methods are in use today (see Nunley). In some ways, however, the study of the human brain is still in its infancy, and many aspects of brain function remain a mystery. You could say that we are just now entering “the era of the brain,” as neuroscientific knowledge increases almost daily, and the link between this information and educational pedagogy grows stronger and stronger.

Ilchi Lee moreover comments that our children do not live in a world where belief systems and bodies of knowledge are passed from generation to generation without external influences. Rather, today’s child must face a veritable smorgasbord of information from which to choose. Our children must be able to adapt and process all this varied information easily and peacefully, so that they can make the best choices for themselves and the world as a whole.

Information makes us who we are?

How would you answer when someone asks you, “What’s your favorite flower?” How about, “What’s your favorite color?” If you answer, “I like roses,” or “I like blue,” who is this “I” you are talking about? What is this “I” entity that decided that it liked roses and the color blue? This entity is the compilation of information that is in your head. A human being is an amalgamation of countless pieces of information. The human awareness of “me” consists of what my name is, how old I am, what my favorite color is, what my favorite flower is, what the happiest moment in my life was, what my future dream is, and so on. This compilation of sorted information is what differentiates us from one another.

Information, depending upon the route through which we absorb it, can be divided into three categories: genetic information, intellectual information, and experiential information. The sperm of the father and the ovum of the mother carry genetic information. Our collective ancestors through countless years of refinement pass it down to us. Intellectual information is information that we get through outside sources such as books, education, movies, television, and all manner of external media. It is an indirect form of information. Experiential information is information that we personally feel and absorb through direct experience or confrontation with an event. It is a direct form of information.

The process of evolution

The process of evolution whereby a life form activates and strengthens its own life energy begins with the birth of its soul. The birth of the soul means that the Life Current coalesces around a single nucleus. We refer to this entity as the soul. Prof Ilchi Lee said that nucleus of a soul is that one thought that does not dissipate or dissolve even with time. Usually, this nucleus is a strong desire or an unquenchable hope. This thought becomes the seed around which the Life Current gathers to form one consistent unit. As long as this seed remains viable—in other words, until the hope or desire becomes fulfilled—the soul will maintain a consistent identity.

We can make an analogy to a lake fed by a stream and which empties into another stream below. The flow of the water remains unimpeded, constantly replenishing the water in the lake, and the shape of the lake remains consistent. Likewise, although the Life Current is always flowing, the soul keeps its shape, as does the lake.

While keeping its shape constant, the soul begins a journey to satisfy the desire or hope that forms its nucleus. By satisfy, we mean either achieve or “output” the shape or form envisioned by the hope. If the soul somehow manages to succeed in a single try, then the hope is quenched and the nucleus dissolved, allowing the Life Current to go back to its original state. The lake goes back to being just water. However, if it doesn’t succeed at its first attempt, it repeats the attempt again and again, adding new ideas and editing the old. It’s akin to creating a picture or a document in your computer.

Creation, Evolution, and Editing

Life Current, the protagonist in the drama of the truth, resides in all forms of existence. This can also be referred as the divine ubiquitous in all existence. However, depending upon its frequency and range of use, the form, shape, and method of its residence differs markedly. The higher its degree of activity, the higher its vibrational frequency, the wider its range of activity and the greater its powers of creation. When the activity of a Life Current is below a certain level, we consider it lifeless. Even among a single living system, the brightness of its activity and frequency of its vibration depends upon the rate of its use, determining the level of the consciousness in which it resides.

The level of brightness of the Life Current can, in the human case, be organized in a spectrum that reflects the pattern of thoughts and behaviors exhibited by individuals. In terms of energy, the differences in brightness can be described as a matter of differences in energy expenditure. However, in human terms, since energy is expressed through filters called emotions and thoughts, the individual awareness or brightness levels have to be determined by observing the patterns in one’s thoughts and behaviors. When a person’s awareness has attained a consistent level of brightness, only then is he able to see himself. This is a physical fact. Imagine lighting an oil lamp in a dark room. As the lamp wick starts to burn, the light gradually gets brighter. Gradually, with the ever-brightening light, you are able to see your hands, arms, and, eventually, your whole body. When you can see yourself, you become self-conscious and act with more care. When the light becomes bright enough for you to start discerning others in the room, you start acting with decorum, becoming considerate of others. And because you can now see yourself, you start asking why you are here. Only then have you taken your first step towards going back home. As the flow of Life Current becomes stronger within you, your awareness becomes brighter, giving you more insight and knowledge. When the activity level of your Life Current reaches a certain point of critical mass, it changes into a different and advanced form, much like a butterfly climbing out of a cocoon. This is the meaning of evolution.

The Earth is not a private club

The Earth is not a private club; it is a universal club. Being born allows you to receive a membership card; you don’t have to do anything else for it. And it is the most beautiful club that you will ever find. Once you have realized that you are a member, don’t you want to keep it clean and comfortable for fellow members to use? And once you realize that you are a member, will you allow bickering or fighting among the members over silly things like dress code or the food that’s being served? And as a member, will you stand by, letting only certain members hog all the food or reserve all the tee times in advance without regard to other members’ needs? As a member. will you hoodwink the new members out of their rightful privileges as full members, hiding and co-opting their privileges for your own, or stand by while others do? Of course not.

Only by recognition of our Earth membership can we achieve a true and equitable peace. And for this realization to occur, in the most fundamental and unforgettable way, our souls need to become One with the soul of the Earth. First, we first need to free our soul of its burdens and set it free. A free soul… how do we achieve this? Many people pray for a free soul, filled with sincerity and earnestness. If we could achieve this through prayer alone, how easy it would all be. Humanity has been praying for thousands of years. We have prayed for freedom of the soul and for peace. We should now know that prayers alone are not enough.

Brain education lessons

As you begin these lessons, Ilchi Lee says, it is important to remember that this is a non-traditional educational method. In the past, many educational curricula have focused on the development of specific academic skills, especially verbal and mathematical skills. Brain Education also seeks to develop skills, but many of these skills, such as emotional awareness, creativity, and cooperation, are not easy to measure or quantify in some way. For that reason, it is best to approach these lessons as guided play, rather than as compulsory homework. If your child really does not want to participate, please do not force him or her.

Also, this is not a competitively based educational method. Competitive strategies for student motivation, such as grading and contests, may have their place in certain educational settings, but these are best avoided in beginning Brain Education activities. In fact, many children need a break from highly competitive educational environments, so please allow your child will be more prepared for the competitive realities of life if first allowed to gain confidence and self-acceptance.

Last, try to remain positive and patient with your child at all times. Some of the exercises may be difficult at first. Avoid comparing a child’s progress to that of other kids, and focus on what he or she is doing well. The important thing is to keep trying! Also, the lessons are designed to be about one hour in length, but the amount of time an individual needs to master particular exercises will vary greatly, so be ready to improvise!
