Prof Lee writes everybody has heard about how good a sauna feels, and of the relaxing effect of a steam bath, which bathes you in hot vapor. But there are other heat treatments, which are evenly beneficial.

Warmth relaxes the muscles and ligaments. When applied locally, for instance, with hot towels, it can ease muscle spasms. It can also reduce arthritic pain. Heat dilates the blood vessels, which in turn activates flow.

Practical to a wound, it can prevent infection by helping white blood corpuscles and fresh oxygen surround the area more rapidly.

At Phoenix Project we believe that each of us has a calling or drive to become our best self and do our best for the world.

But when our lives are overcome with stress, we can lack the power and energy to heed, or even hear this call… Through a rigorous process of Brain Education System Training (BEST) programs including, Dahn Yoga, Martial Arts (DahnMuDo) and Meditation training, corps members reignite that passion for self-mastery and service, while empowering the communities and organizations they work with, to be their BEST. Corps members training prepares them to teach these exercises and inspire society at large to Awaken to Action. Testimonials from past participants (we call them Phoenixi):

“I have always enjoyed the personal growth process, but now I can see how helping others can be good for them, and also a great training ground for my own growth as well.”

“When our group went to help out the Headstart (children’s summer day camp) program, I could fully focus on my core and I felt a great love and gratitude… It has made me feel that there is something big in my future.”
– Allison Smith, Boston, MA

“The most valuable and strongest lesson I’ve learned is that I am not young, weak, insignificant, or selfish; I am strong. My vision is becoming clear…and this give me a serene confidence like nothing I have never felt before.”

The goal of Brain Wave Vibration is to completely quiet the mind so that the latent powers of the brain can come to the forefront. However, this is not so easy for most people, since there are accustomed to constant, habitual chatter in their minds. Instead of vainly trying to shut off your mind, you can concentrate on a single positive thought. Choose something highly empowering that relates to your personal vision. For example, it could be something as simple as, “I am whole. I am one.” Chant this to yourself, either silently or aloud, as a personal mantra while you practice. Through this process, the vibrations of your own voice will add to the overall effect on your brain waves and will strengthen your transformational intent.

Choosing Happiness
Many people feel that they can only be happy and peaceful when they are given the right circumstances and conditions. However, we can be at peace and be content in this moment now, at this place now. This is our choice. There is nothing that is blocking this choice. Only our thoughts are obscuring this choice. Why can’t we be content and happy without conditions? Enlightenment is a choice that continues from instant to instant, from moment to moment.

Ilchi Lee on Happiness

Dahn Yoga
Posted by Karen in Dahn Yoga | 1 CommentSep. 10, 2007Family“The most precious gift we can give our children is to let questions of the purpose of their existence grow naturally in them, and respond to their questions with the wisdom we have gained from our life experiences. Of course, our answer doesn’t automatically become theirs. They will each find their own path in life. It may be vastly different from ours, or it could be one that is an extension of our experience. In either case, having a sincere exchange about our passion and life purpose gives our children confidence. Their trust and respect for us will grow.”

Ilchi Lee on Family

My sincerest wish is to provide tools which aid in the recovery of education, relationships, and harmony between humanity and nature. We carry a deep wish to create a healthier, happier, and more peaceful society. I believe in the power of this wish. I believe that the people who nurture this wish by the choices and actions that stem from their courageous insights make history. The most valuable legacy that we can pass on to future generations is the recovery of our humanity so that they can experience a deeper and more meaningful existence.

Ilchi Lee on Health
Peace“It is now time to acknowledge the ultimate and core value that is capable of encompassing and superceding the partial and prejudicial orientation of the current value systems of the world. It is the one that can become a fulcrum point that will allow balance, harmony, and peaceful coexistence of all people. This is the Earth. The Earth cannot be claimed by any one group or organization regardless of its size or power. If humanity can be said to share one collective vision, it would be peace on Earth. This collective vision may also be our hope for survival in the very near future. To realize that we are all Earth-Humans…this is the key.”

Ilchi Lee on Peace
