Choosing Happiness
Many people feel that they can only be happy and peaceful when they are given the right circumstances and conditions. However, we can be at peace and be content in this moment now, at this place now. This is our choice. There is nothing that is blocking this choice. Only our thoughts are obscuring this choice. Why can’t we be content and happy without conditions? Enlightenment is a choice that continues from instant to instant, from moment to moment.

Of course, our answer doesn’t automatically become theirs. They will each find their own path in life. It may be vastly different from ours, or it could be one that is an extension of our experience. In either case, having a sincere exchange about our passion and life purpose gives our children confidence. Their trust and respect for us will grow.”

My sincerest wish is to provide tools which aid in the recovery of education, relationships, and harmony between humanity and nature. We carry a deep wish to create a healthier, happier, and more peaceful society. I believe in the power of this wish. I believe that the people who nurture this wish by the choices and actions that stem from their courageous insights make history. The most valuable legacy that we can pass on to future generations is the recovery of our humanity so that they can experience a deeper and more meaningful existence.

Peace“It is now time to acknowledge the ultimate and core value that is capable of encompassing and superceding the partial and prejudicial orientation of the current value systems of the world. It is the one that can become a fulcrum point that will allow balance, harmony, and peaceful coexistence of all people. This is the Earth. The Earth cannot be claimed by any one group or organization regardless of its size or power. If humanity can be said to share one collective vision, it would be peace on Earth. This collective vision may also be our hope for survival in the very near future. To realize that we are all Earth-Humans…this is the key.”

You will never be happy if you continue to search for what happiness consists of. You will never live if you are looking for the meaning of life.
My training is to stop searching for happiness in conditions, but being free enough to find happiness everywhere.

A human being is a part of the whole called by us universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feeling as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.

An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity.
Dr. Ilchi Lee definitely meets this criteria. Thank you Dr. Lee.

When you meet someone better than yourself, turn your thoughts to becoming his equal. When you meet someone not as good as you are, look within and examine your own self.
Having a role model is such an important part of growth. If you don’t have someone you aspire to be like, you’re in danger of falling into pride and/or laziness.

| Ilchi Lee: Focus on Yourself |
| From a translation of Ilchi Lee’s book The Power of the Brain
Without a goal, we have no choice but to endlessly chase after the thoughts of others. We envy those who know more or have more than we do, and we live out our lives completely forgetting our own brains. Such things happen to us often unless we are focused on ourselves. |

| The Practice of Enlightenment |
| We must practice and realize enlightenment in society. But why does this have to be in society? What’s wrong with just meditating in the mountains? We do this to assess and confirm the growth of our spirits. How can we know how much our unseen spirit has grown?
When we practice enlightenment, I am so inspired by Dr. Ilchi Lee’s words. |

a great poem by Dr. Ilchi Lee
Infinite blank paper
Misunderstanding a picture of a moment as oneself,
people get emotionally wounded.
But the picture is something we can erase.
Do we think we are allowed
to draw only one picture?
We can paint pictures infinitely.
We have an infinite number of sheets of blank paper.
If a picture is not erased, then we can simply tear it out.
Then there is another picture.
There is a new me somewhere.
I am always blank paper.
I am white blank paper
on which I can draw and erase pictures infinitely.

Don’t waste your life in doubts and fears: spend yourself on the work before you, well assured that the right performance of this hour’s duties will be the best preparation for the hours or ages that follow it.

I’m working now on replacing worry with anticipation of seeing how my obstacles are going to be overcome
